Zsofia Grandpierre is a Registered Psychotherapist, Mindfulness Teacher and Professional Development Instructor.
Zsofia provides psychotherapy (e-therapy) and workshops to young adults, adults and parents. She specializes in Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), anxiety, emotional regulation, life transitions, vocational and academic stress, stress and burnout, and parenting distress. Zsofia uses Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and ADHD coaching to help clients overcome mental health struggles and life challenges. Working collaboratively with clients, she aims to establish a safe and accepting space, to explore and identify challenges, teach new skills to cope with difficult emotions and thoughts, and help clients feel more connected to themselves, others, and their values.
Education and Experience
Zsofia received a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology from the University of Ottawa. She is a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) and a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCPA) . Since 2011, she has worked in community and hospital therapeutic settings for youth and families. In the past, she has held the position as intervention program coordinator at YouthNet, a mental health outpatient program of the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO). In this role she developed and led intervention programs for youth and emerging adults struggling with ADHD, anxiety, depression, life transitions and stress. Additionally, she worked at Youth Services Bureau as a Walk-In Clinic youth and family counsellor. Zsofia is also a mindfulness teacher and in the past has run programs at the University of Ottawa, Algonquin College, Abbottsford Senior Centre, and CHEO.
Workshops, Courses and Speaking Engagements
Zsofia along with her colleagues Zsuzsa and Sonia are avid supporters of furthering the practice of mindfulness in the community. Through private practice and as board members of the Mindfulness Ottawa Professional Community, they provide opportunities to learn about the practice and benefits of mindfulness, stress management, increasing resilience and preventing burnout. Zsofia has a passion for adolescence and parenting. She frequently provides workshops on supporting parents to thrive through the adolescent life stage.
